Employment

At Long Beach Medical Center, we offer the best of both worlds.  We’re large enough to provide sophisticated medical care, and small enough to care about our patients.   If this unique combination sounds like it would be a good fit for you, we invite you to become a member of our team.

About Long Beach Medical Center:

From its inception as a beachside emergency station in 1922, Long Beach Medical Center has grown into a 362-bed medical center comprised of a 162-bed acute care hospital, 200-bed skilled nursing facility specializing in geriatric and rehabilitative medicine, certified Home Health Care Agency, several specialty centers and numerous outpatient programs.

It’s situated on a barrier beach island on the south shore of Nassau County,  overlooking beautiful Reynolds Channel, and serves as the major health resource for the residents and visitors of Long Beach, Atlantic Beach, Lido Beach, Point Lookout, Island Park, and surrounding communities.

In addition to providing exceptional emergency care and quality medical/surgical care, Long Beach Medical Center has established Centers of Excellence that include arthritis and osteoporosis, behavioral health (addiction recovery, alcohol and mental health services), diabetes, dialysis, rehabilitation (acute and short-term), orthopaedics, military health, and wound care & hyperbaric therapy.

The Medical Center proudly holds distinction as the largest employer on Long Beach Island  with over 1,200 employees.  Its medical staff boasts over 200 physicians comprising 37 specialties, and many of these physicians are active in the Medical Center’s post-graduate medical education teaching programs.

As a not-for-profit institution, Long Beach Medical Center reinvests in new equipment and technologies to ensure that quality care is available to patients and their families.  It researches community health trends and responds to these trends with new programs and services.  Long Beach Medical Center is unique in that it offers a diverse continuum of services under one umbrella of care.

And as we strive to maintain a high-tech environment, Long Beach Medical Center prides itself on our patient-centered culture where patients feel cared for and comforted as well.  Just read some of our patients’ comments in our What Our Patients Have To Say section and you’ll understand how we have developed our reputation for compassionate care
