Working With Our Community to Enhance Health

Long Beach Medical Center seeks to improve the health and quality of the lives of the residents we serve.  Through partnerships with individuals, businesses and community organizations, we are working together to achieve these goals.

Coalition to Prevent Underage Drinking

Long Beach Medical Center is the sponsoring organization of the Long Beach Medical Center Coalition to Prevent Underage Drinking, Marijuana and Tobacco Use.  Established in 2000 as a public health initiative to address the problem of underage drinking in the surrounding communities, the coalition is comprised of students, parents, government officials, small business owners, religious leaders, community organizations and local media.  To read more about the LBMC Coalition to Prevent Underage Drinking, please click here

Coalition to Prevent Falls/Safe Steps of Long Beach

The Safe Steps of Long Beach Fall Prevention Coalition was formed by Long Beach Medical Center in 2010 to raise awareness on the incidence of accidental falls and offer prevention strategies to minimize one’s risk of falling.  With grant funding provided by TD Bank, the Medical Center formed a coalition of community organizations and collaboratively initiated a series of evidence-based programs that address this public health concern.   To read more about the Coalition to Prevent Falls/Safe Steps Coalition, please click here.
