PRI 2011 Best Practices Award

Physicians' Reciprocal Insureres awarded Long Beach Medical Center its 2011 Best Practices Award for its success in reducing pressure ulcer injuries across its continuum, including its Hospital, Skilled-Nursing Facility - The Komanoff Center for Geriatric & Rehabilitative Medicine, and certified Home Care Agency.  To read more about hte PRI 2011 Best Practices Award, please click here.



IPRO 2011 Patient Safety Initiative Award

The Island Peer Review Organization (IPRO), the Medicare quality improvement organization for New York State, presented Long Beach Medical Center with its IPRO Patient Safety Initiative Award in recognition of the Medical Center’s organization-wide initiative regarding education, training, measuring and reporting information related to improving the care and management of patients with or at risk for pressure ulcers.  To read more about the IPRO Patient Safety Initiative Award, please click here.  


HANYS 2012 Community Health Award Nominee

The Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) recognized Long Beach Medical Center's 'Safe Steps for Fall Prevention' program in its 2012 Community Health Improvement Award campaign.  The Community Health Improvement Award recognizes outstanding initiatives aimed at improving the health and well-being of communities.  Long Beach Medical Center was a Nominee among 38 hospitals across New York State that were recognized.  To read more about the Hanys 2012 Community Health Award, please click here.  


US News & World Report 2010 and 2011  Five-Star Ranking for Overall Care at The Komanoff Center for Geriatric & Rehabilitative Medicine
